Upgrade from a walk with the dogs

I decided that I'm going to go the long route first and do some "distance" running before I start hitting the 1 miler. So I hit up a treadmill and attempted 2 miles. Things were going just fine but apparently I don't know how to use a treadmill. I must have accidentally set the timer so when it came to about 1.2 miles, it started to cool down. The speed meter went down so I just increased it back up to my previous speed but the timer was now at 2 minutes. So I pumped that back up to about 8 minutes. And then in a couple minutes it cooled down again! So of course I up the speed again. And then cooled down again! This repeated maybe 3-4 times and made me more tired than just running at a constant speed. I finally just let it run its course. Turns out all I was doing was increasing my cool down time and every 2 minutes or so the speed would come back down. I've never had a more tiring cool down. But hey, at least I ran.

why don't you just run for 30 minutes? That's a good way to track your distance...you know you at least ran 3.5 miles, right?

run for 30 minutes? 3.5 mile?? =P big numbers there. Too bad the pedometer doesn't do trails. Now that I mention it, I bet someone has already done it. If not... oo.. what an idea.

can you flip the pedometer map to hybrid satellite and just visually track your distance?
