Wishful Thinking

I was psyched today. A healthy start of the day with some fruit, an easy meal of chicken teriyaki with rice, and a good solid work day. It was feeling like such a storybook day that I thought, heck! I should go for a run today! After spending a good hour or so looking for my headphones and then driving out to buy one, I found it in my jacket pocket. The lack of headphones almost ruined my perfect image of a good run.

I had my mind set on going 2 miles today; 4 laps around CPE. Clock reads 9:14. 1st lap, I'm feeling good; passing up old korean couples, the determined hefty walkers, and backwards walking chinese folks swinging their arms back and forth. By the 2nd, it's a little more strenuous but still on a roll. By the end of the third, my mind some how convinced me that I had run 2 miles and I look down at 9:26. Wow! 12 minutes for 2 miles! But then the proper amount of oxygen started to kick in and I realized... no, that's 12mins for 1.5 miles... so about 8 mins per mile.

saad sad sad...
