"The Committee"
As of Thursday, December 13th, 2007, a committee, known henceforth as "The Committee", has been established to allow, deny, or make suggestions towards the purchase of big ticket electronics. Let it be known that you cannot hide your big ticket purchase from The Committee — The Committee will eventually uncover your hidden purchase through an underground mafia, known as "Our Friends", and you will be humiliated for weeks. "Big ticket" items include items in excess of $2001, including TVs, game systems, sound systems, and computer equipment.
1 Dollar amount reflects acceptable price value based on current economy and is subject to change.

I'm sorry. Did we humiliate you? Well, maybe that'll teach you to go and buy a small TV without consulting The Committee.
Oh, and a point of clarification. The Committee's opinions can be applied retroactively because even though its existence was not explicitly stated prior to the incorporation date, its existence should have been implicitly known. Or as DL said, "The Committee just exists. There is no beginning or end."
I don't get it...
